Happy Fathers Day

Just giving a shout out to those fathers out there...
I was just reading a sites I like to follow and she posted some interesting facts about

Fathers Day

I thought I share them with you, cause I thought they were interesting

"....
* Father’s Day is celebrated the third Sunday in June in over 50 countries around the world.

* The first Father’s Day celebration was said to be on June 19, 1910 in Spokane, Washington.

* A woman named Sonora Smart Dodd spearheaded the efforts for fathers to be recognized after hearing a Mother’s Day sermon at her church. Dodd’s father, a Civil War veteran, had cared for the family after his wife died while giving birth to the couple’s sixth child.

* Dodd celebrated the first Father’s Day by delivering gifts to sick fathers all over Spokane.

* Woodrow Wilson wanted to participate in a Father’s Day ceremony in 1916 in Spokane, but Congress balked because Father’s Day had been the subject of editorial jokes in some newspapers and they didn’t want there to be accusations that the president was endorsing a commercial holiday.

* Many attempts to make Father’s Day an official holiday were shot down.

* In 1966, Lyndon Johnson finally made an official proclamation that Father’s Day would be recognized on the third Sunday of June.

* It wasn’t until 1972 that Father’s Day became a permanent national holiday. (President Nixon signed it into law.)

* Dodd correctly wrote the holiday in plural possessive form (Fathers’ Day), because it was “a day belonging to all fathers.” Somewhere along the way, the punctuation was changed and the day is widely written as “Father’s Day”.

* There are over 65 million fathers in the United States.

* Father’s Day is the fourth-largest greeting card occasion of the year.

* Father’s Day is the busiest day of the year for collect phone calls. ....."

All Aboard!!!

Dylan LOVES his 'choo-choo' train.
We finally got hold of some more track pieces and made a full working track!!!

I'M also helping Dylan start potty training... its been interesting to say the least. He knows when hes going and usually comes to me afterwards and wants to sit on the potty. Whenever I go to the potty he comes with and sits on his. There is a commercial for pull-ups and he loves it when the kid gets up and starts running to the bathroom. Dylan usually runs to the potty and I set him down but nothing... It hasn't quite been a full week yet since I've started to to actually ask him and put him on it.. so cross your fingers something will happen. He even tried on "big boy" under-ware and LOVED IT! HA HA

Happy 21st Birthday

I know I'm late, but I've been busy...:)
My little sister, Christina turned 21 on Sunday.
She isn't much into letting people take pictures (as most of you know) so theres only one...
I thought her smile was perfect! :)
We had a Delicious-O dinner at Famous Daves and then we took her out for some drinks... HA

The cake, my mom and I made for her... my first time using fondent... it was quiet interesting... Next time I will be more patient with it and myself... Go head make fun... haha I sure got a good laugh out of it... It was supposed to be a cupcake on top of a present... I should of just taken the leap and gotten the mold for the cupcake but those can be so expensive! Anyways enjoy the fun we had!
I didn't really care about the bottom side cause there was going to be another layer of fondent to go over it
By, now our patience was getting thin and we still had a loong way to go..
I think I was too worried about not using enough powdered sugar, but obviously I had to much. The fondent was over drying... But in the end it tasted good :) I had found something to put on the fondent to make it all shiny and to get rid of the powered look. I forgot to take a picture... though you can kinda tell in the picture with Christina. I think I just gave myself a huge goal/cake to make for my first one.

Monday was Memorial Day and I had thought about our men and women fighting for our country in the past, present and future. I'm very thankful for that, especially for this one :)

Double Milestone

YES, THATS RIGHT!
First, well it was the second thing that happened but I'm going to start with it first.
He is officially off of soy milk and drinking 2%!
Seriously can this kid stop growing for once second so my brain can catch up?
Just one second?

Second, which ended up being the first thing...
HE CLIMBED OUT OF THE CRIB AND WAS AT THE DOOR WHEN I OPENED IT!
Yep, my little man, Dylan Matthew climbed out of his crib by himself.
Trevor had suggested to put him in the crib and ask him how he got out
he showed us, two different ways I suppose....
First by using his belly and leaning over the rails... WTH!!!(what-the-heck)
NO! That was my first words..
Then he lifted his one leg over the rails...
I laughed...oops
The crib was already at its lowest level...He is growing... getting smarter...
So its official.. no more crib...
Toddler/Day Bed
Here are some BEFORE and AFTER

I'll get one of those single mesh side rails...
But for now I'm off to cry...
